Symptoms:
The installer is unable to pass the PV verification test. Check to see if SOC is at 100%.
Why It Happens
If SOC is at 100% and a Pre-PTO Operation Mode is set then the system cannot export excess PV production to the grid and instead curtails PV production. This means the PV Verification Test will always fail under these conditions.
Troubleshooting Steps
Ask the installer if they can change the operation mode to Self-Consumption and then run the backup test. Changing the operation mode to a Post-PTO mode will allow the system to export PV to the grid, so PV production should start again and the installer should be able to pass the PV verification test. After the PV verification test is passed ask the installer to change the operation mode back to the pre-PTO mode.
If the installer is unwilling/unable to do the above then they need to manually discharge the batteries:
Turn the rotary switch OFF.
Disconnect the PV circuit at the INV.
Turn the rotary switch ON.
Turn OFF the main breaker in the MSP so that the system goes off grid.
Turn on loads in the home so the batteries discharge to cover load.
Let the SOC drop a few percentage points.
Run the PV verification test again.
Reverse these steps so PV is landed and the system and home are on grid again.
