This installation manual provides instructions for storing, transporting, installing, commissioning, and decommissioning the Lunar Battery (NMC). For qualified installers and service technicians only.

Intended Use

The Lunar Battery is a battery system with integrated hybrid inverter for a solar PV and battery storage system. Intended for residential use in standard 120/240V split-phase, 3-wire electrical distribution systems in North America. Suitable for indoor and outdoor installation.

The Lunar Battery will not operate as intended unless installed with the Lunar Bridge, Lunar Maximizers, and Lunar Maximizer Hub.

Key Safety Warnings

  • Only qualified electrical personnel should install, troubleshoot, service, or replace the equipment.

  • Turn off all power before working on or inside the equipment. Use a properly-rated voltage sensing device to confirm power is off.

  • Verify the inverter rotary disconnect switch is in the OFF position before making any connections.

  • Inspect equipment for damage before installing — do not install if damaged.

  • Do not open, disassemble, repair, or modify the equipment. No user-serviceable parts inside.

  • Do not store equipment for more than 6 months without placing into a Lunar-approved storage condition.

  • Equipment is certified for indoor and outdoor installation but must be protected from flooding or directed water flow.

  • Internet connectivity is required for warranty — disconnection for an extended period may limit warranty to 5 years.

  • Not intended for critical life support applications.

  • California Prop 65 Warning: This product may contain chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects, and other reproductive harm.

  • Risk of electric shock and fire. Use only with PV modules with a maximum system voltage rating of 600V or higher.
