Written by Ollie Wells

Symptoms:

  • While holding the TEST button to commission a newly installed smart breaker the LEDs on the breaker change between purple and blue.

    • The LEDs default state is purple, the installer holds the TEST button to begin the pairing process, the LEDs briefly turn blue before returning to purple.

Troubleshooting Steps:

  1. Verify that the breaker is fully seated on the load tray.

  2. Verify that all conductors are properly landed on the breaker and that the neutral pig tail from the breaker is properly landed on the neutral bus bar.

  3. Hard power cycle the breaker:

    1. Disconnect all conductors from the load at the breaker.

    2. Disconnect the breaker's neutral pig tail (deenergize the panel before doing so).

    3. Physically remove the breaker from the panel and leave it disconnected for at least a minute.

    4. Reinstall the breaker and land all conductors again.

    5. Reattempt the pairing process.

  4. Factory reset the breaker:

    1. Hold the TEST button for up to 60 seconds, until the status light turns WHITE.

    2. Wait for 60 seconds while the breaker resets.

    3. Reattempt the pairing process.
