Neutral-Ground Loop:
For Solar Interconnection (Combiner Box or Sub-panel)
Check: Open the solar combiner box or the dedicated solar sub-panel where the inverters/Branch circuits are landed.
Action: Ensure the neutral bar and ground bar are completely isolated from one another.
Correction: Remove any bonding jumpers or green screws connecting the neutral bus to the enclosure or ground bus.
HVAC Systems (AC Unit Disconnect)
Check: Inspect the outdoor AC disconnect box.
Action: Verify that the neutral wire (if present) is not bonded to the ground wire or the metal chassis of the disconnect.
Correction: Isolate the ground and neutral.
Individual Appliances & Receptacles
Check: If a specific appliance circuit is tripping, open the receptacle box for that appliance.
Action: Inspect the wiring to ensure the bare copper (ground) and white (neutral) wires are not touching and are not connected to the same terminal.
Correction: Ensure only the ground wire is bonded to the metal box or the green grounding screw on the outlet.
